Grand Ledge, Michigan police are looking for information on the two suspects.

Some of the iconic sandstone rock ledge formations on the nature trails were vandalized with spray paint and profanities on Thursday night.

According to the police department's Facebook page:

Sometime in the last 24 hours, the natural trail spanning from Island Park to Fitzgerald Park was significantly vandalized. Profanity and pink paint was sprayed on trees, concrete, and our historic sandstone ledges.

The Grand Ledge Police Department would like to alert the public that suspicious behavior and vandalism should be reported immediately by calling 9-1-1. Destruction or damage to park property is a crime, punishable as a misdemeanor. If you have any information regarding this incident please contact GLPD at 517-627-2115.

According to the city's website, the "ancient sedimentary rock outcroppings that lining the banks of the Grand River." The park is also home to a 100-year-old playhouse that is nestled in the woods called the Ledges Playhouse Theater. Visitors can see productions performed there between May and September.

The sandstone cliffs are estimated to be more than 270 million years old and stand about 40 feet above the Grand River. The park is about an hour from Flint.

As an avid outdoorsy-person, this infuriates me to no end. I've been doing more hiking than usual during the pandemic and, while I've seen more people getting out, I've also seen more trash on the trails. Be kind to nature, please.
