- Park's Old Style - 7444 Beaubien St., Detroit
Park's Old Style is another Detroit gem that's been around for more than half a century. A family business, Park's was started by the current owners grandparents back in 1964. You'll find Ribs, Wing Dings, BBQ Chicken, and Pulled Pork. Sides include Onion Rings, Coleslaw, Jalapeño Poppers, Potato Salad, Greens, Macaroni and Cheese, and Green Beans. Park's also offers desserts - in particular Food & Wine compliments the Peach Cobbler.
- Nunn's BBQ II - 19196 Conant St., Detroit
After a fire destroyed the original Nunn's and sadly killed the original owner, Wiley Nunn, his son Al went on to open Nunn's BBQ II in 2006. Al uses his father's original recipes. The famous ribs cook on a 10-foot charcoal grill and then are added to the smoker with the special sauce that Nunn's is known for. Other items cooked that same smoker are rib tips, pulled pork, turkey ribs and rotisserie chicken. Nunn's also offers Perch, Catfish, Shrimp, and Fried Pork Chops.
