After thinking about, asking friends and doing some searching online I've come up with these songs as the most iconic songs about Michigan in my opinion.

To start off the list I went with an iconic rock song that mentions the motor city.
Detroit Rock City by KISS
"Detroit Rock City" by Kiss is one of the most famous rock songs about Michigan.
It's a high-energy anthem celebrating the rock scene in Detroit.
Don't Stop Believing - Journey
This song is a popular sing along song at bars and sporting events.
If If you can get past the fact that there is actually no place in the Detroit, Michigan area called “South Detroit.”
The location south of the Detroit is actually the Canadian city of Windsor.
University of Michigan Fight Song
While I'm a Spartan fan I have to give U of M credit that they have a very well known fight song.
The iconic fight song "The Victors" is known by generations of Wolverines fans.
The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald
It seems like a lot of people want to hate on this classic song about "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" by Gordon Lightfoot.
The song is a haunting song about the tragic sinking of the freighter SS Edmund Fitzgerald in Lake Superior in 1975, with vivid lyrics describing "Old Michigan" and the Great Lakes.
All Summer Long by Kid Rock
When you listen to this song you can't help but feel good.
The music video also shows off how great Michigan is during the summer.
