Detroit Lions Injury Blow: Brian Branch Likely Out for Season
More bad news for Detroit Lions fans as it appears that another key defensive player will be out for the remainder of the season.

Branch left the Thursday Night Football game on December 4, 2025, with just minutes left in the game.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler posted on X on December 5, saying that according to a source, Branch underwent tests that morning and those tests confirmed that Branch had torn his Achilles tendon.
Unfortunately for Lions fans, that most likely means that Branch will miss the remainder of this season and likely some of next season.
Detroit Lions Injured Players
Branch is the latest defensive player for the Lions to sustain a major injury. Terrion Arnold has also been ruled out for the remainder of the season after undergoing shoulder surgery.
On the offensive side of the ball, the Lions have struggled to keep tight ends healthy this year. Currently, tight ends Sam LaPorta, Brock Wright, and Shane Zylstra are all on Injured Reserve. The Lions' current starting TE is Ross Dwelley, who signed on to the practice squad back in September.
