The bus driver, who was the only person on the bus at the time, and the driver of the other vehicle were both taken to the hospital to be checked out. District officials emphasized that no serious injuries were reported.
Students Not Involved
Importantly, there were no students on the bus when the crash happened. Other buses were able to finish the route, picking up children and getting them to school without major delays. Parents were notified about the crash and its impact on pickup times, according to Davison Community Schools Director of Public Information Michelle Edwards.

The district confirmed that a driver will be available to take children home in the afternoon. Bus No. 68 is now out of service, and a replacement bus will cover the route moving forward. Officials added that they are thankful no students were directly involved in the incident.
Transportation Challenges This Fall
Transportation this school year has gotten off to a rocky start. On the first day of school for Michigan City Schools in August, classes were cancelled after someone vandalized 20 buses grounding a third of their fleet.
In Genesee County, a Kearsley father is furious after his 4-year-old was left alone at the wrong bus stop on her first day of school last week.
