Back in April, investigators were reexamining a 2017 Michigan State Police report after human remains were discovered on a rural Genesee County property owned by the late Duane Reynolds.

According to the report, Reynolds picked up a woman in Flint who was holding a sign saying she was homeless. She later told police she escaped from a property in Forest Township, running naked through the woods before finding help at a nearby home.

No charges were filed at the time because there was no complainant. Years later, investigators discovered Reynolds owned the same Willard Road property where human remains were found, prompting a closer look at the old case.

How a 2017 Police Report Became Relevant Again Almost a Decade Later

ABC 12 is reporting that the investigation has now expanded dramatically. Michigan State Police have confirmed four sets of human remains were recovered from Reynolds' former Willard Road property in Forest Township. Investigators are now searching a second property Reynolds once owned on Harris Road, about a mile away.

The Harris Road property is the same location connected to the 2017 incident involving the woman who told police she escaped from Reynolds and ran to a nearby house for help.

Current property owner Ed Brown, who purchased the land from Reynolds several years ago, allowed investigators to search the property and said he hopes any discoveries could bring answers to families of missing loved ones. The first remains were discovered in March by a contractor renovating Reynolds' former home. Reynolds died in December 2024.

Police have not said whether anything was found during the latest search, but the confirmation that four sets of human remains were found on the Willard Road property has significantly raised the stakes in the investigation.

Authorities have not publicly labeled Reynolds a serial killer, and no criminal charges are possible because he is deceased. However, the discovery of four sets of human remains, coupled with the resurfaced 2017 police report, has intensified questions about what may have happened on the properties he once owned.

For now, investigators remain focused on identifying the victims and determining whether additional evidence could still be hidden on the land.
