Genesee County Resident Turns $50 Instant Ticket Into Six Million Bucks
A resident of Genesee flying high after cashing in a $50 instant scratch-off ticket from the Michigan Lottery for $6 million.
The 69-year-old woman won a top prize playing the Michigan Lottery's $300,000,000 Diamond Riches Instant Game. The lucky player, who has chosen to remain anonymous, bought her ticket at Pure Market, which is located at 8475 Main Stree in Whitmore Lake.
The $300,000,000 Diamond Riches game is one of the Michigan Lottery's $50 scratch-off tickets. Prizes range from $50 up to $6 million.
The lucky player has already claimed her prize, according to a news release from the Michigan Lottery.
A Lump Sum Payment
The Genesee County player chose to take her prize money as a one-time $4.1 million payment. According to the Michigan Lottery, she had the choice of a lump-sum payment or 30 annuity payments which would total the full amount of her win.
She tells the Michigan Lottery that she plans to save her winnings.
Michigan Winners Collect Big Money on Instant Tickets
While the Powerball (currently at $900,000,000) and Mega Millions (now $640 million at the time of this writing) jackpots are making headlines and drawing lots of attention, the Michigan lottery notes that its instant tickets can pay off handsomely as well.
