Bernard H. Kroger built the home (or we should say "had the home built") in 1928 for his daughter, Gretchen Kroger Barnes Graf, right after he sold the controlling interest of the Kroger Company. If your grandparents or great-grandparents shopped at Kroger, they may have contributed just a bit to this fabulous home.

According to Cincinnati Magazine, the home is on the National Register of Historic Places thanks to its artful representation of the Colonial Revival Style, which draws on Georgian, Federal, and Dutch Colonial styles.

The home sits on 13 beautiful acres with "heirloom trees, deep woodlands, and exceptional garden terraces" according to the listing. There's a one-acre lake with a fountain, dock, and cascading water settings.

Inside, you'll see some of the home's original craftsmanship like floor-to-ceiling bookcases, carved 18th-century mantels, ornate woodwork, hand-crafted wrought iron doors, and custom lighting and chandeliers.
