What started as a quick stop for pizza turned into a life-changing payday for a woman in Shelby Township. While grabbing a bite to eat, she decided to play Club Keno, and ended up winning a record-setting $822,159 prize.

A Record-Breaking Club Keno Jackpot Win

The Club Keno "The Jack" prize from the Michigan Lottery is the largest jackpot of its kind ever awarded in the state.

Sue Strong matched her easy pick "The Jack" numbers to nine of the 20 Club Keno numbers drawn. She purchased her winning ticket at Party Palace Liquor on Schoenherr Road in Shelby Township. Strong tells the Michigan Lottery she watched the drawing on her phone while she ate.

“I regularly play Club Keno, and I always add The Jack to my ticket,” said Strong. “I went out and bought a Club Keno ticket and pizza on my lunch break and then watched the drawings on my phone while I ate. When I saw all my The Jack numbers come in and the jackpot reset to $10,000, I was shocked! It was nerve wracking and exciting, and to be honest, I’ve hardly slept since!”

Michigan Woman Has Big Plans for Her Lottery Winnings

Strong plans to use her winnings to pay bills, share with family, and then save the rest.

The $822,159 The Jack prize is the largest ever won on the Club Keno game, according to the Michigan Lottery. The previous Club Keno The Jack record was $677,141. That prize was won in March 2025 at JP’s Trolley Stop, located at 8820 Pelham Road in Taylor.
