Grand Blanc Parks & Rec Announce Permanent Closing of Splash Pad
Grand Blanc, MI has announced the permanent closure of a park feature.
It looks like some kids may have to find a new spot to cool off this summer in Grand Blanc, MI, and surrounding areas. Earlier today, the Grand Blanc Parks and Recreation Department announced that the splash pad at Creasey Bicentennial Park will be closed for good.
For those that don't know, Creasey Bicentennial Park in Grand Blanc has been home to many things for families to enjoy in the summer including a splash pad. Unfortunately, the decision has been made to close the splash pad permanently, but not much other information has been released.
Creasey Bicentennial Park is a great park in Grand Blanc and offers quite a bit for residents in the area. The running and walking trail is great and runs from Hill Road all the way into downtown Grand Blanc. The park also offers several baseball diamonds, pavilions, a huge sledding hill, volleyball, a dog park, and so much more.
So we're out of luck this summer, but it looks like plans for a new updated splash pad are in the works. But if you had it your way, what would you want to replace it? I really can't think of anything else to put in that spot myself, but I would love to see a nice disc golf course added to the park though.
I think there are quite a few things that could be added. When you explore the north side of the park, there isn't much there. Just a pavilion and a couple of soccer fields. I would also love to see a driving range added to the property.
A brand new splash pad would be great for the community. Fingers crossed for next summer!
