If your lights and air conditioner suddenly went out this afternoon and you live in the Grand Blanc area, you're definitely not the only one.

Consumers Energy says a large power outage is affecting around 12,000 customers in Genesee County. As of now, the company hasn't said exactly what caused the outage, but crews are heading to the area to figure it out.

According to WNEM, workers will also be rerouting power from other sources whenever possible while repairs are being made in an effort to get customers back online sooner.

When Will Power Be Back on in Grand Blanc?

Right now, Consumers Energy estimates that power should be restored sometime later tonight into the early morning hours Tuesday.

I know this is awful news, especially with the hot, humid weather we're dealing with now. Hopefully, this is one of those outages that gets fixed sooner rather than later.

If you're wondering whether your neighborhood is affected or want to keep an eye on restoration times, you can always check the Consumers Energy outage map for the latest updates.

With temperatures climbing into the 90s today, hopefully crews can get everyone's power restored as quickly as possible. Air conditioning isn't a luxury on a day like this.
