Heckled by a Concertgoer in Toledo
As the Scarecrow singer launched into a story Sunday night at the Stranahan Theater in Toledo, he was interrupted by a member of the audience who shouted "Play some music!"
The crowd of about 2,400 began to boo in disapproval of the fan, seemingly knowing that Mellencamp has a reputation for not responding well to audience members who challenge him during his shows.
The exchange continued as one or two other audience members joined in, and Mellencamp retaliated with a profanity-laced sass, before threatening to cut the show short.
"Tell you what I'm gonna do. Since you've been so wonderful," he said sarcastically. "I'm gonna cut about 10 songs out of the show."
He then launched into an acoustic version of 'Jack and Diane' but stopped abruptly after the second line.
"You know what? Show's over." Mellencamp quipped as he stormed off the stage.

Back on to Do a Few More Songs
