It’s pretty wild that people are still obsessed with Jurassic Park, especially since the first movie came out more than 30 years ago.

Not only is there a new movie in theatres right now, but dinosaur fans of all ages can also get their fix locally at Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad in Genesee Township, which is hosting its first-ever Jurassic Weekend.

When is Jurassic Weekend at Crossroads Village?

Jurassic Weekend takes place on Saturday, July 19, and Sunday, July 20, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day at Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad, located at 6140 N. Bray Road, Flint.

What to Expect at Crossroads Village Jurassic Weekend

The Village transforms into a dinosaur home for the weekend, packed with:

  • Dinosaur rides where kids can sit atop models like a velociraptor

  • A staged fossil dig for hands-on discovery

  • A meet-and-greet with realistic puppet baby dinosaurs

  • A Jurassic Jeep Club showcase featuring Jeeps modeled after those in the films

  • Live reptiles, including snakes and lizards

  • A towering inflatable T. Rex

According to MLive, organizers are expecting around 2,000 attendees over the two-day event. They said the idea came from simply wanting to try something different and hopefully draw in some new faces who haven’t been to the Village before.
