Kroger Issues Frozen Berry Recall for Possible Hepatitis Contamination
If you have recently purchased frozen berries from Kroger, you may want to read this.
Kroger has issued a recall on some of the frozen berries that are sold in their stores. The bags of berries in question have possibly been contaminated with Hepatitis A. The following packages are the ones that were recalled:
- Private Selection Frozen Triple Berry Medley
- 48 oz
- Best by Date: 7-7-20
- UPC: 0001111079120
- Private Selection Frozen Triple Berry Medley
- 16 oz
- Best by Date: 6-19-20
- UPC: 0001111087808
- Private Selection Frozen Blackberries
- 16 oz
- Best by Date: 6-19-20 and 7-2-20
- UPC: 000111087809
After a test of the products by the Food and Drug Administration, the berries were recalled. Townsend Farms is the manufacturer of the products and these berries were shipped to Kroger stores all over the United States.
No illnesses have been reported yet. The symptoms of Hepatitis A include fatigue, abdominal pain, jaundice, abnormal liver tests, dark urine and pale stool.
