A LakeVille student was reportedly approached by a stranger near Detroit Street and Forest Street in Otter Lake, by a man in a black van. The student was walking from a bus stop when the man drove up, rolled down his window and attempted to talk.

The student was able to walk home to safety. Police were called and an investigation is underway. Lakeville Community Schools issued a letter to parents about the incident, and also reminding them to talk to their children about strangers.

When I was a kid I was approached in my neighborhood by a man in a car, who asked me for directions. I was young, but knew this man wanted more than directions. I ran as fast as I could. I knew about strangers, because my parents talked to me. Trust me, it makes a difference.

As always, if you see something - say something.
