It is always great to see a new business opening in Genesee County, especially when it involves microbrew, cider, wine, and food.

Ryan and Nikki McDonald, owners of the popular Hartland Brewing Company are opening a second location in Linden, Michigan - Linden Brewing Company.

The pair were kind enough to talk with me about the new spot, here is the lowdown on what is sure to be a destination microbrewery.

Where is Linden Brewing Company located?

117 North Bridge Street in beautiful downtown Linden.

What is your target date to open Linden Brewing Company?

Our target date for opening is November/December 2023. It takes 9 months to acquire a microbrewer/small wine maker's license. It will take approximately 6 months to update/construct our building.  Be sure to follow Linden Brewing Company on Facebook for live videos and additional progress updates.

In the meantime, my wife Nikki and I invite everyone to Hartland Brewing Company for a taste (and drink) of what we will bring to Linden. You can see the HBC menu and more here.

How similar will Hartland Brewing Company be to Linden Brewing Company?

Linden Brewing Company will be modeled after Hartland Brewing in service, atmosphere, and quality of products. We sacrificed being able to see all the brewing equipment like Hartland for more kitchen capabilities. Linden will have more food options.

Our welcoming hometown feel and local charitable contributions will remain the same. Nikki and I believe we are in the "Service-Service-Service" business. Service our customers, service our community, and service our employees.

What will be unique to Linden Brewing Company?

Linden Brewing Company will bring the community micro beer, cider, wine, and elevated pub food it hasn't seen before. It will provide a destination for foodies and craft drinkers of surrounding areas. Beer pairing dinners will occur seasonally.

Will Linden Brewing Company feature a Mug Club?

Our Mug Club Membership will be a limited, exclusive group that will be our ambassadors. Together, we will go above and beyond to support Linden schools, sports teams, charities, and seasonal festivals. Our executive team of brewers and chefs will provide quality products so we can concentrate on being unique in total service to our customers and community.

What can we expect to find on the menu at Linden Beer Company?

We can't go too deep into our food menu just yet. We are super excited to be working with a prominent local chef and will incorporate as many locally sourced ingredients as possible.
As mentioned before, our food will be elevated pub food with seasonal varieties and beer-pairing dinners. Beer, wine, and cider will be house-made, rotated seasonally, and according to customers' preferences.
We will have a great variety of IPAs and porters. Stouts, Wheat, Sours, Browns/Reds, and Lites. We love to mix and match our beer, cider, and wine to invite new experiences and tastes. See Hartland's PB&J (Peanut Butter Porter & Cider) or Peach/Raspberry Sangria Spritzer (wine & cider).

What will the capacity be at Linden Brewing Company?

Our capacity will be around 80-90 inside and we plan to apply for outdoor seating before the summer of 2024.

What will the hours be at Linden Brewing Company?

Linden Brewing Company hours will be as follows,

  • Monday: 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM
  • Tuesday: 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM
  • Wednesday: 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM
