Lions Extend Stafford’s Contract, Makes Him Highest Paid Player In NFL History
Looks like the highest paid player in NFL history will be sticking with Detroit. The Lions just extended Matthew Stafford's contract to $135 million and five more years.
Stafford will now be staying with the Lions through 2022. He was at the end of his previous 3-year contract for $53 million. Stafford was drafted #1 in 2009 and has led the Lions to three playoffs in the last six seasons.
