Louis C.K. and Steve Buscemi Dropped a New Series Over the Weekend
FX’s Louie may be on extended hiatus, but Louis C.K. himself is taking no breaks. The revered comedian surprisingly released the first episode of a new Cheers-type comedy over the weekend, Horace and Pete, starring the likes of Steve Buscemi, Alan Alda, Jessica Lange and more.
Debuting the new comedy in typically understated Louis C.K. fashion, the Louie star sent out an email to his followers, explaining that the first seventy-minute episode of Horace and Pete was available for $5. From the looks of things, there will be four episodes total, though C.K. hasn’t made clear when they’ll arrive.
The series follows the patrons and employees of an Irish bar, Horace and Pete’s, with C.K. writing, directing and starring. Alda plays bartender Pete to C.K.’s Horace, joined by Steve Buscemi as another Pete. Among the myriad guest stars in the first episode, there’s The Sopranos alum Edie Falco, American Horror Story vet Jessica Lange, Rebecca Hall, Kurt Metzger, Steven Wright, SNL player Aidy Bryant and others.
It’s no Louie, but check out the premiere on C.K.’s website for just $5, and stay tuned for the latest.
