Burton is about to get a massive new Goodwill store.

While driving down Court Street over the weekend, I noticed a couple of giant dumpsters outside a once-popular furniture store. Naturally, I pulled in to see what was going on.

For the past few years, if you were doing your Halloween shopping on Court Street, you were probably hitting up Spirit Halloween in the old Art Van/Love’s Furniture building. Well, it looks like that won’t be happening this year as Goodwill is moving in for good.

Where Will the New Goodwill Store in Burton Be Located?

The store is taking over one of the biggest empty buildings in Burton, right on Court Street. Built in 1987, the 72,567-square-foot space has been a fixture in the community for decades. With a building of this size, shoppers can expect plenty of space for everything from clothing to furniture and more.

The building has quite a history. It started as Art Van, later became Love’s Furniture, and for a few years, it’s been home to seasonal Spirit Halloween stores. Now, the massive space is finally getting a permanent tenant, and it’s likely to be a favorite for shoppers in the area.

When Will the New Goodwill Store in Burton Open?

Right now, Goodwill hasn’t announced an exact opening date. The sign in the window just says “Coming Soon,” but judging by the dumpsters and all the activity at the building, it looks like things are moving along. As soon as we hear an official date, we’ll let you know.
