The Michigan Capitol was temporarily closed this morning due to a potential threat.

Earlier this morning a message was sent to Capitol workers from the Michigan State Police that the building was temporarily closed for the investigation of a "threat."

House representatives and staff received the message at 8 am this morning which stated, "House of Representatives Closure. This is a notification from the Michigan House of Representatives. Due to a threat early this morning...the Capitol is temporarily closed to all members and staff. Michigan State Police are investigating. You will be notified when the building is re-opened."

The Michigan State Police Bomb Squad was called to the scene to investigate. After a search of the building, the all-clear was given. The Capitol is currently closed to the public due to COVID-19 precautions. All staff and members with security access are now allowed back in the building.

Okay. Here is where I go on a tangent. Can we just stop this sh*t! I really don't care what side of the fence you are on, everyone is entitled to their own beliefs, thoughts, feelings, passions, etc...that is was makes us all interesting. This has been an awful year. I have watched great friends become enemies, families break apart, and a never-ending stream of finger-pointing, accusations, and straight-up judgements on people for simply having a thought. Stop it!!!
