Michigan Has Six of the Top 100 Golf Resorts in the United States
Michigan definitely has some of the best golf courses in the nation!
Golfweek has released several top lists for 2023 and Michigan courses make many appearances in them. On the list of the Top 200 Resort Courses in the United States, Michigan courses held down six spots in the top half.
The list was ranked by hundreds of members on the Golfweek course-ratings panel and each used 10 criteria and an overall rating for the courses. These members focused on the golf courses themselves at different resorts around the nation. Check out the six in Michigan that made the top 100 below.
#22 - Arcadia Bluffs - Bluffs Course
Rating: 7.25 out of 10
The Bluffs Course at Arcadia Bluffs runs a long 7,300 yards off the Champion tees and is a links-style course with panoramic views of Lake Michigan.
#30 - Forest Dunes - The Loop Red and Black
Rating: 6.93 out of 10
Located in Roscommon, Forest Dunes offers multiple courses for the public to play including The Loop - Red and The Loop - Black.
#45 - Forest Dunes - Weiskopf Course (Forest Dunes Course)
Rating: 6.73 out of 10
The Weiskopf Course at Forest Dunes is tied for the 45th spot with Mauna Kea Resort in Hawaii. This course was designed by British Open Champion Tom Weiskopf and opened in 2002.
#77 - Arcadia Bluffs - South Course
Rating: 6/49 out of 10
The South Course at Arcadia Bluffs was designed to be a bit of a challenge for golfers and shoots 7,412 yards off the Champion tees.
#87 - Boyne's Bay Harbor Golf Club - Links/Quarry
Rating: 6.43 out of 10
The Links/Quarry run at Boyne gives golfers a mixture of Scottish style links and a rough industrial feel on the shores of Lake Michigan.
#88 - Gull Lake View Resort - Stoatin Brae
Rating: 6.42 out of 10
