Good news for Michigan Lottery winners that win prizes under $100,000. You know longer have to drive to Lansing to the Michigan Lottery headquarters to claim your winnings. You'll now be able to go to a claim center that is closest to your home. Previously winnings that were over $50,000 would have to be collected in Lansing.

You'll find lottery claims centers in Detroit, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Livonia, Saginaw, and Sterling Heights.

Michigan Lottery:

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Michigan Lottery Claim Centers were closed to the public. Claim Centers are now open by appointment only. Drop-Off and Mail-In claims also are accepted. We value your business and appreciate your patience while we work to process prize claims as quickly and as safely as possible.

I've been playing the lottery a lot lately, including Mega Millions, Powerball, and Fantasy 5. So far I've racked up a total of $46.00 in winnings. I don't even want to tell you how much I've lost, it's not a pretty number. Even though I lose all the time, it's still fun to play as long as you don't get too carried away.

I mainly play through the Michigan Lottery app but every once in awhile I'll snag a scratch-off from a gas station or party store.

Make sure you always check your tickets because according to MLive, a winner worth $1 million sold in Hartland last year went unclaimed. Can you imagine if that was you and you realized it after the fact? Oh hell, that would be the worst.
