Michigan Father of Missing Boys Set to Walk Free After 15 Years
Fifteen years after his three boys vanished on Thanksgiving Day, John Skelton is about to walk out of prison. Hard to believe, but it’s happening.
It’s one of those Michigan cases that still gets people fired up. Everyone remembers it, and everyone pretty much feels like they know what happened, even if we’ll probably never get the full truth. It’s just one of those mysteries that sticks with you.
According to The Detroit News, Skelton is now 53 years old and set to walk out of prison on November 29. He’s been locked up since 2011 after pleading no contest to holding his three boys, Andrew, Alexander, and Tanner, against their will. They were just 5, 7, and 9 years old when they vanished from his place in Morenci back in 2010.
Here’s the part that makes people lose their minds, myself included. Skelton was never charged with murder. The police and everyone else familiar with the case have always believed he’s responsible, but since those boys were never found, there wasn’t enough evidence to prove it.
The whole thing started when the boys didn’t come home to their mom, Tanya Zuvers, the day after Thanksgiving. Police showed up to find Skelton’s house destroyed.

Over the years, Skelton has given so many bizarre stories as to where the boys might be. None of it ever made sense.
A judge officially declared the boys dead earlier this year, and now their father, the only person who knows what really happened, is walking free. Unbelievable.
I get why he’s being released. He served his time. But it’s still infuriating. We all know what we believe happened, even if no one can ever prove it.
