There are a few key factors into why prices are going down according to WXYZ.com.

The Biden administration took action on rising gas prices on March 31 promising to release up to 1 million barrels of oil a day for 6 months.

Here in Michigan, the GOP-led Legislature voted to temporarily pause the state's 27-cent state gas tax.

It's a move Governor Whitmer vetoed. Instead, she proposed suspending the state's 6-percent sales tax on fuel.

So I guess this is a good thing? I'm hesitant to say so because if prices are going down it means we're sacrificing something today, that we'll probably regret in the future. The president is releasing 1 million barrels of oil a day for 6 months. Sound good right? It does until you realize that oil is coming from our military reserves.

Then the Michigan state tax was paused to save drivers an extra 27 cents a gallon.  That also sounds great, then you find out half of that 27 cents is used to repair Michigan roads. Michigan already has a reputation for some of the craziest potholes around with the constant fluctuations in temperature The roads just fall apart. So yea your saving money via the state tax being temporarily paused, but you'll end up paying more money in the long run with you having to buy new tires and struts after destroying your car driving down these Michigan roads.

Have fun!
