4 Colors to Avoid Wearing in Michigan to Keep Mosquitoes Away
Summer hasn't even officially started, and the mosquitoes in Michigan are already out of control.
It's almost impossible to go outside at night without multiple layers of clothing all drenched in bug spray. Due to all the rain we've endured this year, Mosquitoes are expected to become even more brutal than they already are.
Even if you spend hundreds of dollars, like many of us do, hiring a professional to spray your yard, you may find it doesn't always work. Alternatively, you might try the typical tricks to keep mosquitoes away, such as sprays, citronella, or even planting lavender or lemongrass in your yard. However, sometimes, no matter how hard you try, those bloodsuckers just won't stop. It can be incredibly frustrating to deal with, especially when you've invested time and money into various solutions.
I was today years old when I found out that there is actually another possible solution that you can do to keep mosquitoes away. According to a study conducted by the University of Washington, certain colors repel mosquitoes and others that attract them.
Prepare to make changes to your wardrobe as we look at colors you should and should not wear.
Colors Mosquitoes Are Attracted to
Black
Red
Cyan
Orange
Mosquitoes are attracted to your breath, your sweat, and the temperature of your skin. Well, now you can add the color of your clothes to that list.
While wearing the above colors is not ideal to avoid mosquito bites, you're fine wearing green, purple, blue, and white.
I have to believe that there may be something to this study considering I wear black shirts all the time and I'm constantly being attacked.
