A Wayne County man who says he buys a Michigan Lottery ticket 'every once in a while' hit it big, winning $2 million on a random ticket purchase.

The 53-year-old man, who wishes to remain anonymous, won the money while playing the Michigan Lottery’s Legendary Wild Time scratch-off ticket.

According to Michigan Lottery Connect, the ticket was sold at Jefferson Fuels Inc., 8005 East Jefferson Avenue in Detroit.

Here is what the lucky winner had to say about his big Michigan Lottery win,

I scratched the ticket right after I bought it and didn’t believe it was real when I saw I’d won $2 million! It wasn’t until I called the Lottery and verified my prize that it started to sink in that this was really happening.

Can you even imagine? Dumb question - I am sure you can.

I don’t know about you, but I have bought a lottery ticket on a whim before. I always expect to win, of course - but I never actually do.

It is no surprise that Michigan’s most recent lottery millionaire chose a one-time payment of roughly $1.3 million. So, what’s next for him? The plan is to travel and save the rest of his winnings.

Having that kind of financial freedom has to be incredible - congrats! As for the rest of us, buy a lottery ticket, cross your fingers, and wish really hard.

Let me know if it works. Good luck.
