WTH, Michigan? Storms, Snow, and Even Tornadoes Wednesday
The weather in Michigan has always been very unpredictable; that's just something we've all come to accept. But what's been happening lately is a whole new level of wild weather.
This past weekend, residents experienced some of the wildest weather of their lifetime, especially those living in Northern Michigan, where they were hit with an ice storm that was off the charts. While parts of the state dealt with ice, others endured powerful thunderstorms and even tornadoes.
Unfortunately, we’re in for more of what we saw on Sunday.
Northern Michigan Weather
While there are still many without power, most of Northern Michigan is expected to take another beating from another storm as it passes through. According to The Sault News, the storm’s gonna kick off with 1-2 inches of snow around midnight. Later Wednesday, it’ll switch over to freezing rain, with about one-tenth of an inch of ice expected.

Lower Michigan Weather
In Lower Michigan, including Metro Detroit and Mid-Michigan, there’s gonna be a whole mix of weather, from thunderstorms and isolated tornadoes to wind gusts up to 70 mph, large hail up to an inch, and, yep, flooding in some areas too. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention the snow. All this chaos will kick off with a wintry mix overnight.
I’ll be honest, things could get pretty nasty on Wednesday here in Michigan. Of course, there’s also that chance that nothing will happen at all...this is Michigan, after all.
