Michigan’s Amber Releases Video For ‘Sight Picture’
If you know me, you know I'm a new music junkie and a big supporter of music that's homegrown right here in Michigan. With that said, let me introduce you to Amber.
Southeast Michigan-based Amber was born of a desire to combine a passion for heavy music with a passion for hope and healing through song. When lead vocalist Amber Atwood and recording engineer/guitarist Chris Herr, of metal band Bringing Down Broadway, began collaborating on a songwriting project in 2018, it quickly became clear that her vocals and his melodic yet heavy instrumental stylings paired well together. In 2019, their band, Amber, became fully formed with the addition of guitarist Kevin Whittemore, formerly of La Dispute, bassist Brian Wilson, also of Bringing Down Broadway, and drummer Paul Schloss, of rock band Think it Over.
The band is musically influenced by such artists as Fly Leaf, Skillet, In This Moment, and Evanescence, Amber is accessible to fans of various intensities of rock and metal.
After hearing the opening riff to the song 'Sight Picture' combined with Amber's vocals, I knew this was something I wanted to share with listeners of Banana 101.5.
Hopefully, we'll see the band in Flint performing at The Machine Shop at some point in the future. Thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, live concerts are up in the air for the time being, so it might be a while.
Amber recently released their first single, Sight Picture (watch above), and will release their debut full-length album later this year. Follow them on Facebook and Instagram (@officialamberband) for info and updates.
