Drink Up – Popular Flint Bar Closing After 22 Years
A beloved downtown Flint bar will be closing after 22 years in Genesee County.
The Loft on Saginaw Street will officially close on New Year's Day, January 1, 2025. Owner Rodney Ott announced the closure through social media.
I love the fact that Ott wants to make the rest of the year a celebration of The Loft,
"I don’t want the next 6 months to be a sad time I want it to be a Celebration of Lofted folks who made the loft what it is!"
It is a real safe bet that regulars, past patrons, and new customers will be flocking to the downtown Flint hot spot before the end of the year.
This is a great chance to gather your crew and reminisce about the wonderful times you've had at The Loft.
Will another bar be opening in its location?
According to ABC 12, the building located at 526 Saginaw Street was sold a few months ago to a fellow downtown Flint businessman. Rodney Ott had this to say about the new owner.
"I'm not sure what his plans are. But I kept the liquor license just in case I ever want to come back."
Congratulations to Rodney Ott and the entire team at The Loft for 22 years in downtown Flint.
Feel free to share your favorite memories at The Loft with us, and remember, you still have time to create some new ones.
Cheers!
