Mom Leaves Baby in Extremely Hot Car To Eat Pizza

With the heat index registering 108 degrees in Jonesboro, Arkansas, a woman thought leaving her sleeping 4 month-old in the car while she went into a pizzeria with the rest of her family was a good idea.

The baby had been in the car for about 10 to 15 minutes and was not acting right and possibly in distress. This according to the mother, who called 911 after she finally checked on her baby.

Police say the mother admitted the car was turned off and the windows were up despite being 96 degrees with a heat index of 108. This lady could not give one good reason (because there isn't one) why she would leave her child in a situation like this.

The baby was taken to a hospital for further examination.The mother was cited with endangering the welfare of a minor-second degree and gave her a court date of Aug. 3 before releasing her.

I just don't understand some people's way of thinking. Sure accidents happen but not when it involves the life of your child. It's clearly a case of selfish and careless parenting.
