Monroe’s Top 11 Picks For 2019 Movie Releases
The new year has begun and there is a lot to look forward to when it comes to movies. Here are my top 11 picks for movies that are coming out in 2019.
Just to make it easy, the list is in chronological order for when they movies are coming out.
1.) 'Replicas' - January 11th. This is the first of two Keanu Reeves movies to make the list. This one sees Reeves as a synthetic biologist that cloned his family.
2.) 'Captian Marvel' - March 8th. Marvel's first female-led superhero film which will take place back in 1995.
3.) 'Avengers: Endgame' - April 26th. This one needs no explanation.
4.) 'John Wick: Chapter 3' - May 17th. The second Keanu Reeve's film to make the list. The first two John Wick movies were badass, so I can't wait to see this one. Get the rundown of it here.
5.) 'Godzilla: King of the Monsters' - May 31st. This will mark the 35th film in the Godzilla franchise and the follow up to the 2014 'Godzilla' movie.
6.) 'Dark Phoenix' - June 7th. Marvel is taking a few leaps this year. 'Dark Phoenix' will give us a more in-depth look at Jean Grey. The other step their taking is with 'The New Mutants' which is a whole different angle of the X-Men side of things.
7.) 'Men In Black: International' - June 14th. I don't know if I am totally behind this one with a completely new cast, but I'm willing to give it a shot. I can't be that bad with Liam Neeson and Chris Hemsworth, can it?
8.) 'Spider-Man: Far From Home' - July 5th. This one I'm trying my best not to speculate on pending on the results of 'Avengers: Endgame.' Also, since we are still waiting on that, I doubt we will see any kind of trailer of anything of substance until April.
9.) 'Joker' - October 4th. This entry is almost a cry for help. There has been a lot of speculation on what this movie is even going to do for DC. Joaquin Phoenix with play the Joker, a failed stand-up comedian that becomes a psychopathic criminal mastermind. I don't know what to expect, but I feel I will end up watching in the same way you would a train wreck.
10.) 'Terminator 6' - November 1st. Not too much is know about the sixth installment of the franchise. It is rumored that both Arnold Scharzenegger and Linda Hamilton will be returning to the film. It is also rumored to take place and/or be a sequel to 'Terminator 2: Judgement Day' while thankfully ignoring the other movies.
11.) 'Star Wars: Episode IX' - December 20th. The long-awaited finale of the saga. This one is a no brainer. I grew up on the Star Wars films and have been hooked all my life. I can't wait to see the final episode!
Well those are my picks and must see movies for 2019. There are a bunch more, but these ones mean the most. Happy new year!
