Are ya ready, kids? A new Spongebob movie is on the way, and they've utilized a rock staple in the trailer — Motley Crue's "Kickstart My Heart."

The new movie about everyone's favorite animated sponge follows his journey to finding his pet snail, Gary, who was kidnapped...or uh, "snailnapped." Seeing as the Dr. Feelgood anthem was written by Nikki Sixx following an overdose where his heart literally stopped beating, it definitely makes for a humorous pairing, but the kids will probably love the song's energy regardless.

The animation in the upcoming film looks a bit different than the typical Spongebob we're used to seeing in the past, but it's packed with the same cast that's been around for years. Keanu Reeves even makes an appearance as a tumbleweed. We don't know what that means either, but we're just letting you know it is, in fact, a thing.

The Spongebob Movie: Sponge on the Run will be out in May 2020. Watch the trailer below.

Motley Crue embarked on a final tour throughout 2014 and 2015, which they concluded by signing a cessation-of-touring agreement. The band have since released several new songs for the soundtrack for their biographical Netflix movie, The Dirt.
