Motor City Comic Con Returns to Novi This Fall

Comic Con fans can rejoice! After a two year hiatus, the Motor City Comic Con is returning to Novi in the fall.

The Motor City Comic Con is the biggest in the state and annually brings in around 70,000 fans over the course of three days.

When will the Motor City Comic-Con take place?

Normally the Motor City Comic Con happens every year right after Mother's Day. Obviously, that wasn't the case last year or this year. However, the event is still a go for this year but it won't be going down until October. Keep in mind, the 2022 comic con will return in May.

This year's event will be two days instead of three, on Saturday, October 16 and Sunday, October 17.

Where will the event take place?

The Motor City Comic Con will once again take place at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi.

Miriam Kruger, Executive Director of Motor City Comic-Con spoke with MLive:

We were planning it on a smaller scale and picked these dates out a couple of months ago but have been waiting to see where things were going with vaccinations. Our biggest thing was that we didn’t want to schedule and reschedule and keep rescheduling.

They had some pretty big names lined up for the 2020 event that never took place including Kiefer Sutherland, Alice Cooper, Mario Lopez and others. Hopefully, some of those names will be able to make it later this year.

We are planning on 15 celebrity guests and around a dozen comic guests. I have a feeling as capacities increase, we can increase the guest list. I can tell you that trying to plan a 15 person guest list is really hard. Who do you leave out? We’re trying to keep it simple. I have a feeling we’re going to start this out as a smaller show and it may not end up that way.
