The Mass Transportation Authority in Flint is planning to restore fixed routes starting back up next week.

According to ABC12, Fixed routes in Genesee County will begin operating on Monday. The schedule will be similar to weekends operating from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sundays.

Don't expect everything to fall right back into place without having a few restrictions along the way though. All passengers will be asked to wear a face mask, which is something that is becoming the new normal. If you don't have a mask, don't worry, masks will be provided on all buses. Don't be a pain butt and put up a fight over this, just wear the damn thing. It will make everyone's life a hell of a lot easier.

Just a heads up, all passengers will be required to board through the rear doors.

One reoccurring question I've been seeing on social media is in regards to the Rides to Wellness service. The Mass Transportation Authority will restore this service on June 1 for veterans and passengers qualified by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

Here's a nice little bonus for you, no fares will be charged until June 1.

This really is just one more thing that will help so many with some normalcy which we all need in our lives right now.

If you have any questions or concerns about MTA bus service should call the Customer Service Center at 810-767-0100.
