Amazing Mural for the Flint Public Art Project Finished on Harrison Street
A new mural has been added to a parking garage in downtown Flint.
The Flint Public Art Project is a local nonprofit organization that is responsible for hundreds of murals, both permanent and temporary, around the city of Flint. Last week, artist Johnny Fletcher finished up his mural on Harrison Street at the University of Michigan-Flint.
Artist Information:
Johnny Fletcher created his artist name Johnny Five, he is the fifth John in his family and the most popular when he was born and his favorite movie was Short Circuit. He use to dream of making robots as a kid and when he discovered art, robots were his main muse. As an adult, Johnny loves to create works that inspire children to follow their dreams and let them know it’s okay to follow them. This mural “Follow Your Dreams” shows a young child in the box robot dreaming of what he wants to be when he grows up. While the child waits for their parents on the UM-Flint campus, the child dreams of the different opportunities the university can provide to make those dreams come true when he settles on their dream of being in the robotics program creating robots.
To see this mural for yourself, it can be found right at the corner of Harrison Street and Kearsley Street, next to the Flat Lot in downtown Flint.
