My Chemical Romance fans were ecstatic when they finally announced their official reunion this year on Halloween. However, the band revealed earlier this morning that the plans for the reunion initially began back in 2017.

"In 2017, we got in a room together to see what would happen," MCR wrote on Twitter. "A couple more jam sessions and 39 days of rehearsals later, we’re ready to show you what we’ve learned. See you soon."

We're not sure what happened between that first meeting in 2017 and now — or what even sparked their comeback to begin with — but we aren't complaining either way. Perhaps the attendees of tonight's show in Los Angeles will receive some more information. The highly anticipated Shrine Expo Hall concert is the first of a handful of reunion events, the rest of which will take place in 2020. As of now, only five other dates have been announced for next year in Australia, New Zealand and Japan.

In other news, Mikey Way has taken to Instagram to share his excitement. "I'm fuckin' ready!" the guitarist wrote with a photo of guitar picks he'll be using that say "Mikey Fuckin Way."
