My Christmas Tree is up Already - You Got a Problem With That?

I don't know what it is about Christmas that brings out the worst in so many people.

The other day I mentioned to someone that I was putting up my Christmas tree this week and you would have thought that I just said something nasty about their mother or something. This person just went off about how it's total bs that people put up their trees before Thanksgiving. They just went on and on about it. I was like relax, it's not like I'm going to invite you over to see it anyway.

The whole thing just got me thinking (and pissed me off a little too). Why do people care so much when someone else puts up their Christmas tree? It's not like I get pissed when people wait to put up theirs.

Prior to meeting my girlfriend, Angelique, I always put up my tree on Thanksgiving weekend. We would put Christmas vacation on the tv and throw up the tree, it was kind of tradition. After Angelique moved in that all changed because she was all about putting the tree up right after Halloween. I'll admit, at first I thought that was a little early. Then I saw how happy she got when the tree was up and it kind of just changed the whole vibe in the house. A happy girlfriend is a wonderful thing.
