NASCAR Returns to MIS This Weekend
NASCAR returns to Michigan International Speedway this weekend.
Even though the track is closed to spectators, NASCAR fans can still catch the action this weekend on TV. Coverage starts tonight at 6 pm for the Henry Ford Health System 200, which will be available on FS1 and MRN (Motor Racing Network.)
Tomorrow, at noon, the Henry 180 will take place at Road America near Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin for the custom Henry 180 Edition Big Boy Lever-Action Rifle. Following that, the action returns to Michigan at 4 pm for the annual NASCAR Cup Series FireKeepers Casino 400. Finally, on Sunday, fans can tune into TRACKPASS or Motor Racing Network to see the VizCom 200 at MIS followed by the NASCAR Cup Series Consumers Energy 400 at MIS at 4:30 pm, which will air on NBCSN and Motor Racing Network.
When it comes to the NASCAR Truck Series race this weekend, driver Spencer Davis will be forced to sit this one out. The 21-year-old driver just recently tested positive for the coronavirus. Davis is now the second driver forced to miss a race. Fan-favorite Jimmie Johnson was unable to race in July after a COVID-19 diagnosis.
This weekend actually bums me out quite a bit as I was going to attend this race with some friends. It would have been my first actual NASCAR event and we had a pretty sweet weekend set up. The friends I was going to go with have gone for years and know the ins and outs and have quite a few connections, but yet again, 2020 has decided to strike down my plans again.
