Researchers up in the thumb area have uncovered one of the most complete Mastodon skeletons to date. Nearly 70% of the skeleton has been recovered and still "intact."

A team of researchers from the University of Michigan led the dig which took place at the Fowler Center. All it's missing is the lower jaw, the tusks, and most of the bones in the feet. Not bad for having lived 10,000 to 11,000 years ago.
