No matter how old I get, I will always remember some of the cool things I learned back in my day from "Sesame Street". The creators of the show have upped their game in teaching about differences, by introducing Julia!

According to CBSnews.com, there was a lot of research done before creating Julia with a panel of experts, and they carefully chose which characteristics Julia would have. Over the years the show has addressed many real life scenarios such as death and parents being incarcerated. The puppeteer who plays Julia is actually the mother of a child with autism, and she's happy to show that kids with autism "are important enough to be seen in society."
