Police Have Charged Six People in Genesee Valley Center Shooting
Police have officially charged six people related to the shooting on October 16th.
Just a few weeks ago, Facebook and other outlets were filled with stories about a shooting at Genesee Valley Center. The incident on Saturday, October 16th left two people in critical condition. Now, police have arraigned and charged six suspects related to this case.
Four of the suspects were arraigned in Genesee County District Court. The other two suspects were arrested in Texas and are awaiting extradition back to Michigan. All the suspects were allegedly a part of the incident that broke out around 3 pm on October 16th inside the mall near J.C. Penney. The incident caused the entire mall to go into full lockdown while several police agencies in the area responded and began investigating.
On Tuesday, November 2nd, the following people were charged with multiple crimes stemming from the shooting:
- Mikhael Emmanuel Collins
- Assault with intent to murder
- Discharging a firearm in a building causing impairment
- Malicious destruction of property totaling $1,000 to $20,000
- Four weapons charges
- Lionell Jabar Brown
- Assault with intent to murder
- Discharging a firearm in a building causing impairment
- Malicious destruction of property totaling $1,000 to $20,000
- Possession of a machine gun
- Seven weapons charges
- Desmion William Hodo
- Possession of a machine gun
- Two weapons charges
- Trevon Lanard Davis
- Tampering with evidence
- Lying to a police officer
- Two weapons charges
- Two other unidentified suspects were charged with:
- Assault with intent to murder
- Discharging a firearm in a building causing impairment
- Malicious destruction of property totaling $1,000 to $20,000
- Weapons charges
