Police Looking For Police Impersonator in Lapeer County
Police are looking for a man thought to be impersonating police in Lapeer County.
According to Mid-Michigan Now, police were called in Metamora Twp. at approximately 11:35 p.m. on Thursday evening for a report of a possible police impersonator on the corner of S. Lapeer and Dryden Roads.
Apparently a 22-year-old man was pulled over by an unmarked car and what he believed was a police officer. He said the man approached his car and asked for his driver's license, proof of insurance, and registration. At that moment, he says he could tell something was wrong about the traffic stop. He told the man that he would give him the information after he called 911. Pretty smart move on his part because the guy got back into the unmarked car and took off.
Description of the man in the unmarked car:
- White male
- Approximately 30 years of age
- Short dark hair
- 6 feet tall
- Approximately 220 lbs.
- Clean-shaven
- Wearing tan tactical pants, black long sleeve tactical shirt, black
- Wearing a gun belt with a handgun and a yellow taser
He was also able to give a description of the unmarked car.
- Black Dodge Charger (newer) with black rims
- A police light bar with red and blue lights was on top of the vehicle
- Push bumper with red and blue lights
- Protective bars on the back seat windows
- Multiple antennas on the trunk
- A possible partial plate of DC33
That 22 year old was extremely observant to his surroundings to be able to remember all of that information. The only thing that I probably would have remembered was that it was a man that pulled me over.
