Pontiac Man Kills Boyfriend, Choked to Death Over Stupid Video Game Argument
A 28-year-old Pontiac, Michigan man was recently killed by his boyfriend of 10 years after they got into an argument over a lousy video game.
The 31-year-old boyfriend, Docquen Jovo Watkins is now facing charges of second-degree murder after taking the life of his partner, Rory Teasley. This is truly one of the most senseless reasons for someone losing their life that I've ever heard of.
Apparently, the two were at home playing a video game together. At some point, while playing the video game "Overwatch" they got into an argument. The argument obviously escalated because Watkins ended up choking Teasly to death.
According to WDIV, deputies found Teasley unconscious and not breathing. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard:
We see far too often across the country these days when people resort to violence over trivial and insignificant disagreements. There is never a reason where violence is acceptable over a disagreement. Those who do so will be held accountable.
I saw one of the dumbest comments about this story on social media. A woman posted about how it's the fault of violent video games that causes behavior like this. Here's her post:
Unfortunately this shows how mentally unstable these people are that play violent video games.
Mentally unstable? Yes, but not because he plays video games. Watkins obviously has deeper lining mental issues, it wasn't the fault of the game he was playing. I mean he could have been playing Mario Kart and acted out in the very same way.
Years ago I was playing video games with some friends and after beating my buddy in a game, he went ballistic. He stood up and started screaming in my face and threw his controller across the room. I had never witnessed anything like that in my life. I couldn't believe how upset he was over a stupid video. It just goes to show how mentally unstable he was.
