Reports indicate, that Matthew Hertgen, 31, murdered his younger brother Joseph, 26, with a knife and a golf club. The elder Hergten also killed a cat that was on site and called 911 after the violent acts.
Matthew Hergten is facing 30 years to life in prison if convicted of first-degree murder per The Detroit News.
According to the New York Post, Joseph Hergten graduated from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. He played soccer for the University of Michigan from 2016 to 2019.
The New York Post shared a super creepy poem today that was allegedly posted on Matthew Hergten's Facebook page;
Someone sits alone in that room/ That room where the walls shake. He still has a pulse/ Blood still flows through his veins/ But something is wrapped around him/ Squeezing him/ Choking him/ Suffocating him.
Currently, information or comments from the family have not been made public. I cannot even imagine what they are going through. You can never be prepared for a call this tragic.
I will keep you updated as more information is made available.
