A local family is desperately seeking help to raise money for a baby that was born over the weekend after the mother was killed in a car accident in Flint.

According to ABC12, Mackenzie Monreal was eight months pregnant when she died over the weekend. Before life left her body, doctors were able to deliver her baby girl a few weeks premature. It's so amazing that doctors were able to save her but she'll now grow up without a mother.

With the sudden passing of Mackenzie, the family is stepping up to help support the newborn (and another daughter) but it's obviously going to be expenses that no one planned on so that's why the family is looking for help. They're also looking for help with funeral expenses.

Here's what her cousin posted on the Gofundme page:

"Today 4/28/18 my cousin Mackenzie Monreal tragically lost her life in a car accident when her vehicle was struck by another driver.  She is the mother of an almost 4-year-old and was expecting a child within a matter of weeks, by the grace of God the baby survived but since this happened so suddenly it is going to be difficult to get the needed financial funds for the funeral and to help her two daughters! Anything is appreciated I know times are tough so even a kind word will go a long way."

They are approaching $3,000 of the $20,000 goal. Please donate if you can.

I'm sure this child will forever be thought of as a miracle baby and will help keep Mackenzie's memory alive.
