Residents Petition Against Mayor After Harsh Words About Special Needs People [VIDEO]
Disturbing audio was leaked to the public, and now some Warren residents want to reduce the term of Mayor Jim Fouts.
This petition would make it so Fouts' term would be over in 2019 and he would not be able to seek another term, according to FOX 2 Detroit. As of now, a mayor can serve five terms of four years each for a max of 20 years. Michael Grenier, lawyer and former deputy mayor, is hoping that will be changed to two terms for a total of eight years max. Grenier needs to secure 6,000 signatures to have a chance at this change. Fouts claims that he never said the horrible things about special needs people, and that it is not his voice heard on the tapes.
