Popular Retailers Closing All Michigan Stores for 24 Hours
Shopping in Michigan has changed a lot over the years, and the younger generation has no idea what it was like.
Back in the good old days, a trip to the mall was an event. So many hours spent walking around, checking out new stuff, going to arcades, trying to meet cute girls, and grabbing a pretzel with friends. You weren’t just clicking a button to buy things, you actually had to physically go out and find what you were looking for. And it was freaking awesome.
Now? It’s all about convenience and getting what you want at that very moment.
Don't get me wrong, I'm just as guilty as the next person who loves and prefers online shopping. However, it’s this convenient behavior we have that's causing so many stores to close and malls to disappear. People’s shopping habits have definitely changed over the years.
Look, it's not all doom and gloom; there are still plenty of brick-and-mortar stores, and lots of people are still physically going out to shop. Now, with that in mind, there is one day coming up this month where you're going to see some of those stores close for an entire day.
Four Major Retailers Closing All Michigan Stores for 24 Hours
While many major retailers have opted to stay open for the upcoming Easter holiday, there are some that would rather give up that revenue so employees can be with their families... and we salute them.
This year, you’d better plan ahead and do your shopping before Easter Sunday (4/20), as Target, Costco, Sam's Club, and Aldi will be closed.
Now before you freak out, there will still be plenty of stores opening for those emergencies including Meijer, Walmart, and Walgreens just to name a few.
Those aren't the only stores closed on Easter in Michigan.
