Ride The Keweenaw- Pedal Through This Historic Copper Mine in MI’s U.P.
It's not every day that you get to ride your bike through the caverns of a historic copper mine. However, that's exactly what you'll get to do at Ride the Keweenaw in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
Ride the Keweenaw is an adventure like no other. It's three days of non-stop mountain bike trail riding. According to their website, you'll get to ride all of the Copper Country's amazing trails, from Söké all the way to Copper Harbor and everywhere in between.
MLive reports that there will be guided rides, group rides, competitive rides, a new family-friendly Enduro race, and an underground, headlamp, or handlebar lights-required ride through the historic Adventure Mine in Greenland.
When is Ride the Keweenaw?
Ride the Keweenaw will take place Memorial Day weekend, May 24-26 2024.
Nathan Miller, executive director of the Copper Harbor Trails Club:
We’re always excited for Ride the Keweenaw and are looking to make this a great year. Our partner organizations here in the Copper Country are brainstorming new ideas to make the event even more fun and we look forward to releasing more details on those as things come together.
Registration is now open for this year’s Ride the Keweenaw, here.
The event was originally called Ride the Keweenaw, but then it was changed to Experience the Keweenaw. For some reason, that name didn't stick and they changed it back to Ride the Keweenaw.
