Saginaw Township Police Officer Shot in Face During Traffic Stop
A Saginaw Township police officer was shot in the face during a traffic stop earlier this morning.
According to ABC12, about 2 a.m. a Saginaw Township police officer performed a traffic stop on Tittabawassee between Fashion Square Boulevard and Bay Road in Kochville Township.
The officer was shot while approaching the vehicle but was able to radio to other officers while the suspect fled the scene. I can't imagine having a job that would put me in danger like this on a daily basis. I have so much respect for police officers.
A manhunt is currently for 29-year-old Joshua Rosebush (alleged shooter), who was previously wanted for a string of vehicle thefts and thefts from vehicles in Tuscola County earlier this month.
Police believe Rosebush is driving a white Ford F-250 pickup truck with AIS Construction decals on the side and license plate number DB60703. Investigators say he removed his probation tether and should be considered armed and dangerous.
Several Saginaw County schools will be operating in secure mode today as police continue to search for Rosebush.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Saginaw Township Police.
Our thoughts are with the the16-year veteran of the police department.
