Popular Michigan Ice Cream Shop Closing After 66 Years
A Michigan ice cream destination is closing doors after 66 years of business.
Sherman's Dairy Bar in South Haven has been a staple for many Michigan residents and tourists. The closing was announced recently via Facebook.
We want our loyal fans to be the first to know: the 2024 season of Sherman’s Dairy Bar will be our last. We have loved being part of your summer traditions for 66 seasons, and we know many of you have fond memories of a scoop at Sherman’s.

When is Sherman's Dairy Bar in South Haven officially closing?
Sherman's Dairy Bar will close after service on Saturday, October 26th, 2024. Ice cream lovers have until then to enjoy the many unique flavors at Sherman's including the following,
- Yellow Cake Batter
- Cappuccino
- Chocomania
- Coconut Almond Fudge
- Birthday Cake
- Cotton Candy Confetti
- Peanut Butter Cup
- Amaretto Cherry Amour
Guests can also choose from classic flavors such as Blue Moon, Mint Chocolate Chip, Vanilla, Butter Pecan, and Cookies 'n Cream (just to name a few). You can view the complete list of flavors with photos here.
According to the official Sherman's Ice Cream website, Grandpa Sherman started the business in 1916, delivering milk with a horse-drawn wagon. Sherman's began selling ice cream in 1958.
Thank you to the Sherman family for 66 years of delicious ice cream, and for creating lasting memories for many families.
